Ian Bell has a strong viticultural and vineyard management background. This foundation has been set from 15 years in the employ of Keith and Clare Mugford of  Moss Wood winery,a better pedigree you could not wish for. Keith and Clare encouraged the young cellar and vineyard hand to study viticulture and in 1987 he enrolled at Roseworthy College, South Australia. Qualification under arm he rejoined Moss Wood in 1989. In the next few years he worked his way up to vineyard manger and since 2000 has been production manager.

Moss Wood’s achievements are well documented , the Cabernet Sauvignon is consistently ranked in Australia’s top ten and is sought after nationally and internationally. Keith Mugford’s renowned wine making skills have been passed onto Ian. He acknowledges the influence of these pioneers of the region and credits Keith and Clare with arming him with the skills and certitude to pursue his own label.
Since 1997 the Glenmore vineyard has supplied grapes to Moss Wood and under the Moss Wood label the Glenmore brand was born and has been well received in the market place and established a following. Since the 2002 vintage Moss Wood  changed the brand to ‘Amy’s vineyard’ thereby willingly  paving the way for Ian to launch the Glenmore label in its own right.
